Exhausted Morrison to Take Week Off

Fresh from a stirring performance as official QB Saturday, a physically and emotionally spent Blake Morrison announced that he would be skipping this week's game to attend to some "business" in New York. A Morrison confidante, however, revealed that the southpaw slingthrower was simply "exhausted" and needed some time off.

With only five players on hand last week, Morrison was forced to sit under center for both sides in a game pitting the short and old - Fred Frommer and Dave Brown - against the tall and (relatively) young - Brandon Carney and league newcomer Josh Balk. Morrison engineered a 7-3 victory for the old guys, finding a rare passing rhythm with Frommer that included throwing him an INT in the end zone. The clincher came on a corner route to Brown.

Morrison was said to be recharging his batteries by reading a Washington Post story about a local football league that dates back to the Johnson administration - http://tinyurl.com/yehllpp, and vowing to similary lead the TFL far into the 21st Century. His absence gives Balk, the presumptive league rookie of the year, a chance to surpass him on the QB depth chart.
